Jenkins Executive summary



    • A participatory culture is a culture with relatively low barriers to artistic expression and civic engagement, strong support for creating and sharing creations, and some type of informal mentorship whereby experienced participants pass along knowledge to novice
    • Everyone does not have access and its creating a gap 
    • schools have been slow to catch on, the greatest opportunity for change is currently found in after-school programs and informal learning communities
    • particapatory culture shifts the focues of literacy from individual expression to community involvment.
